A bit of History about Los Cabos...

Los Cabos (the Capes) expands over the east and west at land´s end, right at the tip of the state of Baja California Sur, where the Pacific Ocean and Sea of Cortes meet. Los Cabos is located south east of San Diego with a 900 mile distance. That´s where the World Famous Baja 1000 Off Road Races held yearly in November got its name. Los Cabos has many attractions to offer, however the two most popular and visited areas are San José del Cabo, home of the Los Cabos International Airport (SJD)with more of a picturesque town feel and Cabo San Lucas, the glamorous and vibrant relative.

Back in the day, Los Cabos was very exclusive since only the rich could afford to visit, as it was a well-kept secret between sun-bathing and fishing lovers. It´s only dirt strip was available for minor aircrafts either that or you could venture in a 900 mile Off-Road trip to its coast line where only a couple of hotels had established. It was in the late 40´s when the first hotel was open in the East side of the Cape, Hotel Las Cruces was just the beginning. Just about ten years later the famous Palmilla hotel in San José del Cabo opened its doors to the public and so the hotel construction began with well-known names such as Hotel Cabo San Lucas (Chileno Bay now), Hotel Hacienda, Hotel Finisterra (Sandos Finisterra now), Hotel Solmar (Playa Grande and Grand Solmar) and many more throughout the years. Not to mention the development of exclusive residential zones with world-class custom-built residences.
